This morning I was thinking about some things that concern me when these blessed words came to my mind -- "pour out your heart before Him." I got my Bible and found the verse in Psalm 62:8: "Trust in Him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before Him: God is a refuge for us."
What a sweet and beautiful verse -- our Heavenly Father loves for us to come to the throne of grace and pour out our hearts unto Him -- He understands and cares!
I thought about King Hezekiah when he was being threatened by the king of Assyria. When Hezekiah received a letter from the hand of the messengers, he read it and then went up into the house of the Lord where the Bible says he spread it out before the Lord. I picture King Hezekiah weeping, earnestly praying, and telling the Lord all about it! (II Kings 19:14-19)
Praise the Lord!! His ear is Always open to the cry of His children!!
Sometimes I just need to get on my knees and spread everything out before my Heavenly Father! He already knows all about it, but He loves for me to enter into His Presence and pour out my heart to Him. And He tells me in Isaiah 40:31 that "they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."
So----let us go about our work today with a prayer on our lips and the joybells ringing in our souls!
