It is Springtime, and that means many ladies are thinking about Spring cleaning -- what to discard--what to keep, etc. I have a very difficult time with the discard part. I have a tendency to want to keep everything--thinking I might need it or use it sometime. But the one thing I want to keep above all others and never discard -- that far exceeds any earthly treasure -- is God's Holy Word which is such a blessed lamp unto my feet and light unto my path!
As you begin your work week, may I share a few sweet promises with you to brighten your days.
"He will keep the feet of His saints . ." I Samuel 2:9
"He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways." Psalm 91:11
"He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: He that keepeth thee will not slumber." Psalm 121:3
"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee: because he trusteth in Thee. Trust ye in the Lord forever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength." Isaiah 26:3-4
"Blessed are they that hear the Word of God, and keep it." Luke 11:28
"And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:7
The little book of Jude, the next to the last book in the Bible, has only one chapter containing 25 verses, but Jude tells us in the third verse -- "it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith . ." He closes the chapter with these two precious verses of assurance and comfort!
"Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy---
To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen."
"Blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book." Revelation 22:7
