"Up Calvary's mountain one dreadful morn, walked Christ, my Saviour, weary and worn.
Facing for sinners death on the Cross, that He might save them from endless loss.
'Father, forgive them, thus did He pray, even while His life-blood flowed fast away.
Praying for sinners while in such woe; No one but Jesus ever loved so!
Oh how I love Him, Saviour and Friend! How can my praises ever find end?
Through years unnumbered on heaven's shore, My tongue shall praise Him for evermore!
Blessed Redeemer! Precious Redeemer! Seems now I see Him on Calvary's tree.
Wounded and bleeding; for sinners pleading. Blind and unheeding, dying for me!"
In the 23rd chapter of Luke, we read: "And when they were come to the place, which is called
Calvary, there they crucified Him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.
Then said Jesus, 'Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do'
And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.
And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst.
And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, He said, 'Father, into Thy hands I commend My spirit':and having said thus, He gave up the ghost."
And even though I love this beautiful song, "Blessed Redeemer", I don't like to end there, for Sunday is coming!! Praise the Lord!!! The tomb will be empty, for Jesus has conquered death, hell and the grave!!
So, as you prepare your heart for Resurrection Sunday, lift your voices and worship Christ, our Risen King!!!
