Running the Race!

When our pastor stood to preach the Sunday following my husband's funeral service, he said he felt that God had strongly impressed upon him that Dad was speaking to our church family through these verses in Philippians 2:12-16.
"Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure.
Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world:
Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain."

Perhaps you have a pastor, a friend, a loved one who prayed for you, invested in you, shed tears and interceded for you, who has already finished the Race and is counting on you to make it to the City of God that their labour will not have been in vain!

May God bless you and strengthen you as you continue to run the race, "looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith."
