On The Mountain!

I was raised in Kansas and had never seen a mountain until after I was married.  So it was quite exciting to view the mountains in Colorado for the first time!  Maybe it was kind of like the time when Peter, James and John were up on the mountain with Jesus!  When Jesus was transfigured before them, and they saw His glory, they didn't want to leave.  Peter said, ""Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for Thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias."  But they had to come down from that blessed mountain top experience, and immediately many people met them wanting the attention of Jesus for various needs!
And so it is with us today -- we want to stay on the mountaintop and revel in the glories and beauties up there, but Jesus calls us to come back down to where we are needed to labor for the upbuilding of His Kingdom before the night cometh when no man can work!

I like this little quote by Oswald Chambers:
"We have all experienced times of exaltation on the mountain, when we have seen things from God's perspective and have wanted to stay there.  But God will never allow us to stay there.  The true test of our spiritual life is in exhibiting the power to descend from the mountain".

May God bless you as you begin a new week of living for Jesus -- Mountain or Valley -- "Where Jesus is, it's heaven there!"
