More Than Conquerors!

I love this beautiful scripture from the 8th chapter of Romans:
     "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?  shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
      As it is written, For Thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
      Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.
      For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
      Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."  Praise the Lord for this blessed and encouraging promise!!

This scripture brings to mind this wonderful quote by Oswald Chambers:
     "Huge waves that would frighten an ordinary swimmer produce a tremendous thrill for the surfer who has ridden them.  Let's apply that to our own circumstances.  The things we try to avoid and fight against --- tribulation, suffering, and persecution --- are the very things that produce abundant joy in us."

We find this very hard to "swallow" -- like bitter medicine -- but we probably all know some dear saints who have used their sufferings as a stepping stone to draw them closer to Jesus!   Let us determine to make our circumstances "stepping stones"  and not "stumbling blocks!"

 I am very thankful that the words of this wonderful song can be a reality in your heart today:

     "Nothing sweeter can be known than full surrender to the perfect will of God eternally!
Like a bird that's found its nest -- so my soul has found its rest;
      In the center of the will of God!"
