In Matthew 20:17-19, Jesus is talking to His disciples about His death and resurrection and says:
"And Jesus going up to Jerusalem took the twelve disciples apart in the way, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of Man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn Him to death.
And shall deliver Him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify Him: and the third day He shall rise again."
I like this quote from Oswald Chambers: "Seeking to do 'the will of the Father' was the one dominating concern throughout our Lord's life. And whatever He encountered along the way, whether joy or sorrow, success or failure, He was never deterred from that purpose."
Is doing the will of the Heavenly Father your supreme desire? Obedience always brings the blessing, and, as the song says, "nothing sweeter can be known than full surrender to the perfect will of God .."
May God bless you today as you seek to do "the will of the Father!"
